IN THE MEDIA: Cessnock City Council’s Economic Development in partnership with the local cycling community have launched ‘Cycle Hunter Valley’. The new brochure has everything a cyclist visiting the Cessnock Local Government Area needs!
Cycle Hunter Valley shows suggested routes with information on starting points, length of ride, grading and surface type.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent (pictured below) congratulated everyone involved on the collaborative approach in developing the map and brochure contents.
“To compliment this fantastic resource, Bike Service Points have been created for cyclists that may need assistance during their ride. Additional features include toilet locations, parking options and scenic lookouts points where cyclist can take a snap during a ride.”
“This document is just one example of our staff and community identifying opportunities during COVID-19. Cycling is a safe activity, where all participants can social distance but still get out and about enjoying our beautiful region. There’s a growing interest in this activity for visitors and now we can make their trip that much more enjoyable with this helpful resource.”
The maps will be available at the Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre and bicycle shops throughout the Hunter valley. It will also shortly be made available online.
